As the Operations Manager, you will report to the President and oversee daily operations at a blending and packaging facility. You will work with key managers to ensure products meet all internal and customer standards, maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and quality policies, and drive productivity. Additionally, you will lead continuous improvement efforts to optimize facility performance.
To succeed as the Operations Manager, you should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering is preferred, though relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
- A minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment, focusing on process improvement and operations management.
- Solid knowledge of Fishbowl Inventory & Manufacturing (or similar systems) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and make data-driven decisions to improve manufacturing operations.
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills are essential.
- Demonstrated experience managing safety and environmental compliance, ensuring a safe and compliant workplace.
Your responsibilities as the Operations Manager will include:
- Leading by example to ensure strict adherence to safety, health, environmental regulations, and company policies, always promoting a safety culture.
- Overseeing the initial and ongoing training needs for all operations employees, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to perform safely and effectively.
- Ensuring that all quality and environmental compliance requirements, including ISO standards, are met, working closely with the ISO Certification Manager for audits and maintaining proper documentation.
- Managing production operations, including optimizing costs, maintaining quality, and ensuring timely delivery of products. You will also oversee inventory management, working with purchasing and logistics teams to ensure efficient use of raw materials and finished products.
- Championing a culture of continuous improvement, using performance metrics to drive operational enhancements. You will lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring high morale and effective resource utilization.
