Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accurate financial recordkeeping and reporting for a portfolio of community associations. Your role will be essential to month-end closings, reconciliations, and financial analysis, while ensuring compliance and supporting internal systems.
To thrive as their Staff Accountant, you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred; minimum 3 years of accounting experience, ideally in real estate, property management, or construction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), accounting software, and general comfort with database and online payables systems.
- Solid attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and experience with financial reporting, reconciliation, and recordkeeping.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a professional, self-directed work ethic.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reconcile 20–25 operating, reserve, and investment accounts monthly, resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, cash flow statements, and budget comparisons.
- Maintain and organize financial records for audits, year-end tax filings, and vendor documentation, including 1099s.
- Manage financial database integration with banking and payables platforms; assist with system support and training.
- Support budgeting processes, vendor setup, and homeowner billing coordination for multiple community associations.
