About the Position
The Content Marketing Specialist is responsible for creating engaging content across various platforms to support our mission. This role is crucial in significantly influencing our brand audience engagement through the power of content. It requires a combination of creativity, technical skills and strategic thinking to produce compelling multi-media content that aligns with our goals and is targeted at our various target audiences. A passion for making a positive impact is a must.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Content Creation
- Develop and implement a wide range of clear and concise creative content including copy and design to support overall Marcom goals including social media, blogs, informational sheets, visuals, PowerPoints, website content, emails and campaign assets.
- Generate ideas for engaging content.
- Collaborate with Marcom team with planning content calendars.
Writing, Editing & Proofreading
- Write compelling copy to support a wide range of marketing channels such as social posts, blogs, website and emails.
- Simplify complex information to create copy that is easy to understand.
- Proofread and edit content for clarity, grammar, and accuracy, maintaining high standards for all published material keeping within brand voice and tone.
Video & Photography
- Editing videos from webinars, and other multimedia pieces.
- Video/photo management including properly tagging and categorizing.
Research
- Research and stay updated on consumer & industry trends.
- Integrate timely content trends.
Other
- Assist with other marketing initiatives and projects as needed to support the team's overall success.
- Model organizational values.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively to hit deadlines and see projects through to completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content, incorporating storytelling.
- Understanding of utilizing brand voice, tone and design guidelines.
- Attention to detail and strong editing skills.
- Understanding of consumer and industry research.
- Self-motivated with a passion for maintaining current and up to date best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent knowledge of social media platforms.
- Proficiency with video editing software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint and Word.
- Proficiency with Adobe software.
- Understanding of AI landscape and tools is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Passion for nonprofit causes and a desire to make a positive impact in the community.
Education, Experience, and Certificates
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field with 1 year of experience or 3 years equivalent work experience.
- Proven work experience in content creation including copy and design, digital marketing, or a similar role.
- Strong writer with an ability to write and edit using AP writing styles.
- In-depth knowledge of social media management tools.
- Strong understanding of content marketing, social media marketing, and email marketing best practices.
