As a Credit Underwriter at Red Oak Inventory Finance, you will play a key role in our growing commercial lending business. You will analyze credit requests for inventory loan financing, assess risk, and make informed lending decisions with appropriate conditions of approval. Utilizing financial statements, cash flow trends, and key metrics, you will evaluate business performance and the creditworthiness of owners and guarantors. Your expertise in floorplan/inventory finance, entrepreneurial mindset, and ability to thrive in a dynamic market will help drive our success.
To thrive, you should have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of relevant credit experience
- Ability to analyze financial statements/tax returns, including trend, ratio, and cash flow analysis
- Possess thorough knowledge of secured lending documentation, including UCC, Purchase Money Security Interest, Intercreditor Agreements, and Letters of Credit
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail
Your responsibilities as the Credit Underwriter will include:
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and prepare comprehensive and detailed credit narratives for new and existing customers, evaluating transaction structure, financial capacity, principal experience, guarantor support, and industry and economic trends with a well-supported recommendation.
- Spread and analyze financial statements, assess key evaluate financial ratios and measure credit risk to support lending decisions.
- Review and assess consumer credit and third-party business reports.
- Determine appropriate loan documentation, including guarantees, UCC filings, and additional collateral.
- Perform periodic reviews of customer relationships to confirm risk ratings and financial stability.
- Collaborate with internal sales, operations, and legal teams while engaging with prospective and existing customers to support financing needs.
