Director of Information Technology
As the IT Director, you will manage all aspects of the company's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, network, security, and data management. As a strategic thinker and strong leader, you should possess a broad range of technical knowledge and skills to ensure the organization's technology operations are efficient, effective, and aligned with business goals.
Your essential duties and responsibilities as the Director of IT will include:
IT Management: Deliver system administration and support on all IT infrastructure including on premise and cloud solutions to ensure safe and secure environments while proactively managing risks. Includes design, implementation, and maintenance of all hardware, software, and network systems
End User Support: Develop process, procedure and documentation while providing full lifecycle of end user support. This includes troubleshooting all incidents and end user support requests, determining resolution, working with MSP or Vendors where applicable and determining long term strategies to reduce tickets and increase user satisfaction
Security and Risk Management: Deliver system administration and support on all IT infrastructure including on premise and cloud solutions to ensure safe and secure environments while proactively managing risks. Includes design, implementation, and maintenance of all hardware, software, and network systems.
Application Integration and Support: Support integration between systems, work with vendors and business partners to troubleshoot and resolve software and data issues. Support full application life cycle of technology systems in conjunction with Business Analysts from requirements gathering to vendor/system evaluation, selection, implementation, user training and ongoing support to ensure effective use of systems.
Relationships: Manage and build strong relationships with external vendors and service providers. Establish effective and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders consistently providing excellent service to the organization.
What do you need to be successful?
This position is responsible for maintaining documentation, processes, and procedures that support the organization’s Information Security Policy, Incident Response Plan, and Disaster Recovery Plan. The role proactively supports end users, monitors and maintains the health and security of applications, databases, computers, and websites, identifies issues, and recommends resolution options. This position also ensures systems remain aligned with audit and compliance requirements while managing ongoing relationships with technology vendors, contractors, and partners.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A deep understanding of the latest technology trends and being up to date with the latest developments in the field. Familiar with various technology systems, software, and hardware, including cloud computing, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data analytics.
- Strong leadership and management skills to effectively lead and manage resources, including vendors, contractors, and MSP.
- Financial management skills and effectively managing the IT budget and costs. They should be able to allocate resources appropriately and manage costs to ensure maximum return on investment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with other departments and stakeholders. Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ability to manage complex technology projects from start to finish. They should be able to develop project plans, manage timelines, and coordinate resources to ensure successful project completion.
- Ability to manage change effectively and ensure that the organization is prepared for technological changes and those that impact business processes. Ability to develop and implement change management strategies that minimize disruption and ensure successful adoption of new technology.
- Ability to thrive in a diverse work environment and commitment to inclusion with demonstrated skills in relationship development for engaging and long-lasting connections
Education, Experience, and Certificates
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge across a range of IT disciplines.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with cloud computing, virtualization, and data center management.
- Familiarity with IT security best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with budgeting and financial management
