HR Business Partner – Compensation and Benefits
PEMEX Deer Park is seeking an HR Business Partner to play a pivotal role in shaping the people strategy for a workforce of approximately 1,000 employees. You will partner with leadership on HR operationss, compensation, and benefits administration, leveraging your expertise in HRIS and total rewards programs to ensure seamless, compliant, and impactful HR solutions across the refinery.

To succeed as an HR Business Partner, you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or related field, with 6–10 years of progressive experience in compensation, benefits, and HRIS.
- Solid experience supporting HRIS implementation or system upgrades, with advanced skills in Excel, HRIS platforms, and compensation tools.
- Solid knowledge of federal and Texas-specific employment and benefits laws, with experience in manufacturing, energy, or refinery industries preferred.
- Solid communication, organizational, and analytical skills, with acute attention to detail and ability to meet time-critical deadlines.
- SHRM-CP certification and prior experience in a unionized or refinery/manufacturing environment preferred; ability to travel onsite as required.
As an HR Business Partner, you will:
- Partner with HR leadership and business leaders to align compensation, benefits, and rewards programs with organizational goals.
- Administer employee benefits programs, leave of absence processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (ERISA, HIPAA, ACA).
- Support compensation planning, including job grading, pay bands, incentive programs, and equity decisions.
- Manage HRIS and data systems, developing reporting tools, dashboards, and ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance.
- Provide analytics, training, and guidance to leaders and HR teams to inform workforce planning and support change management initiatives.

PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crude oil, producing high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The Pemex site is co-located with other 3rd party chemical facilities, allowing for further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products.
