Senior Structural Project Manager- Houston
Our client is seeking a Senior Structural Project Manager who is ready to make a meaningful impact — The Structural Project Manager will work with and lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team on projects across healthcare, industrial, government, corporate, and education markets. This role requires a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with strong technical knowledge, project management expertise, and client-focused leadership. The Structural Project Manager will oversee design delivery, manage project
teams, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients while ensuring quality, budget, and schedule goals are met. This role blends structural design expertise with leadership skills that align with our company culture and core values.

To succeed as the Senior Structural Project Manager, you should have:
- Master’s degree in Structural, Architectural or Civil Engineering (structural emphasis) with 8–12+ years of progressive structural engineering and project management experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas or eligibility to obtain licensure within six months.
- Advanced command of structural systems (steel, concrete, CMU, foundations, lateral/diaphragm systems), including progressive collapse checks, anchorage, and connections.
- Structural Engineering (SE) license with ability to obtain California licensure (passed the 16-hour SE exam)
- Proven capability with Revit (model and drawing review), RISA (analysis/design), and development of calculation templates, standards, and detail libraries.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities, including facilitating meetings, preparing executive-level narratives, and engaging clients and specialty consultants.
Our client prefers a Structural Project Manager to have:
- NCEES Record (or ability to acquire quickly)
- Blast design and/or coordination experience (UFC 3‑340‑02, ASCE 59) or direct work with blast consultants.
- Experience with VA Technical Information Library (TIL) criteria and Federal acquisition environment (FAR/IDIQ task orders).
- Working knowledge of RISAConnection, Tekla Tedds (or equivalent), RAM/ETABS/SAP for special cases.
- Experience mentoring and developing PMs/PEs; establishing QA/QC checklists and BIM standards.
Your responsibilities as the Structural Project Manager will include:
- Lead the development of structural construction drawings and specifications.
- Manage project prioritization, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination across disciplines.
- Apply advanced engineering principles, including blast-resistant and progressive collapse design for government and industrial clients.
- Oversee and mentor a team of engineers, EITs, and designers.
- Ensure project delivery aligns with client expectations, regulatory codes, and firm standards.
- Coordinate closely with architects and other design professionals.
- Conduct meetings with clients, governmental agencies, and internal teams.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and support business development through proposals and presentations.
- Serve as the technical liaison, representing the firm on complex project matters.
- Support nationwide projects with occasional travel (1–2 days per month).
