Financial Controller

You will oversee all accounting operations, including hands-on daily bookkeeping, month-end closing, GAAP-compliant financial reporting, budgeting, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A). You will safeguard financial integrity, strengthen internal controls, deliver accurate and timely financial statements, and provide operational insights that support executive leadership and strategic decision-making. In this hybrid role, you will partner cross-functionally to drive performance, ensure compliance, and help scale a dynamic company serving the automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing industries.

To succeed as the Financial Controller, you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA license preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, automation, or project-based environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in GAAP-compliant accounting, job costing, general ledger reconciliation, and month-end close processes; ability to reconcile WIP schedules to the GL and communicate financial impact to leadership.
- WIP (Work-in-Progress) and POC (Percentage-of-Completion) revenue recognition strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks or ERP systems, expense management software, and advanced Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, forecasting, pivot tables, data analysis); experience with project accounting tools preferred and KPI reporting preferred.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally; ability to travel as needed and communicate effectively in English with corporate leadership, auditors, and operational teams; experience supporting budgeting, FP&A, and internal controls preferred.
Your responsibilities as the Financial Controller will include:
- Lead Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Operations: Manage full-cycle AP/AR processes, including invoice approvals, billing, collections, accruals, and general ledger coding within QuickBooks, ensuring strong internal controls and accurate financial records.
- Drive Project Accounting & Job Costing Analysis: Perform detailed project profitability analysis, cost tracking, revenue recognition support, and margin reporting using ERP and advanced Excel modeling to improve forecast accuracy and operational performance.
- Manage Cash Flow & Working Capital Optimization: Develop weekly cash flow forecasts, monitor net working capital, oversee procurement spending, and implement strategies to strengthen liquidity and reduce carrying costs.
- Deliver Financial Reporting & KPI Performance Insights: Prepare executive-level reporting packages, analyze financial trends, track operational KPIs, and provide data-driven recommendations to support strategic planning and capital allocation decisions.
- Ensure Cross-Functional Financial Leadership & Compliance: Partner with project managers and executive leadership, maintain GAAP compliance, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and reinforce strong financial governance within a manufacturing environment.
