Lead Operations Specialist

New Ground is a unique non-profit helping Veterans and families for over 34 years in breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty. As the lead operations specialist, you will lead all office and property operations. You must be someone who can work independently with minimal oversight. As New Ground expands our services and housing in the coming years to serve even more struggling Veterans and families, there is ample opportunity for your growth and development.
To succeed, you should have:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree required
- 3- 5 years of operation management or overall operations experience required
- Solid communication and organizational skills, along with exceptional attention to detail required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) required
- Driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online (QBO) software or other bookkeeping software is a plus
- Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus
- Non-profit experience is a plus
New Ground is an approved qualifying employer under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF), and employees in this position may qualify for student loan forgiveness under the PSLF program.
Your day-to-day responsibilities as the Lead Operations Specialist will include:
General
- Interacts professionally, enthusiastically, and in a customer service-oriented manner with all donors, vendors, volunteers, guests, employees, and clients.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to ensure regulatory compliance, reporting, and timely renewals.
- Reports directly to the Executive Director, provides support to all leadership team members.
Financial
- Working with the Accounting team, process bills and payments weekly, collaborate on monthly reports and distribute/review with key board members and Executive Director.
- Prepare and review financial documents, including bank statements and end-of-month reports.
- Coordinate and prepare for annual audits and budget processes.
Office & Property Management
- Oversee daily office operations, including vendor relations and equipment maintenance.
- Manage office supplies, expenditures, and staff meetings/events.
- Primary liaison with the Property Management Company and oversee tenant rental records and property-related reports.
Organizational
- Schedule and manage board and committee meetings.
- Maintain operational policies, oversee onsite HR functions, and serve as HR company liaison.
- Support grants, donor data, program metrics, and key organizational reports.
- Assist in fundraising events and organizational growth initiatives.
