As a Membership Services Representative, you will ensure accurate reporting and documentation, support audit-related functions, and deliver responsive, high-quality service that strengthens member trust and organizational effectiveness.

To be successful, you should have:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business, math, finance, or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in customer service, benefits administration, insurance services, membership services, or union environments required; public safety or nonprofit experience preferred.
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret contract language, eligibility rules, and insurance plan provisions. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel formulas, sorting, filtering), data entry, digital file management, and compliance auditing. Typing speed 50+ WPM; ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages accurately.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly in one-on-one and small group settings. Bilingual (English/Spanish) and ability to travel locally for outreach preferred.
Your responsibilities as the Membership Services Representative will include
- Interpret contracts and plan provisions to accurately process member transactions, eligibility determinations, and benefits-related documentation in compliance with union and insurance guidelines.
- Analyze and resolve member inquiries regarding group insurance plans, applying contract interpretation and plan rules to address complex or sensitive benefit issues with professionalism and empathy.
- Audit and validate enrollment data by reviewing insurance forms, ensuring accuracy, completeness, regulatory compliance, and data integrity.
- Identify discrepancies and trends in benefits administration, exercising sound judgment and escalating complex matters to leadership when appropriate.
- Support member education and outreach efforts by assisting with insurance presentations, materials distribution, and enrollment processing for Police Academy Recruit Classes.
