To thrive/succeed as the Controller, you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant SaaS exposure and work in startup or high-growth environments.
- Proficiency in ASC 606, SaaS metrics, QuickBooks, advanced Excel, and subscription management systems (e.g., Maxio).
- Proven track record in analyzing workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing impactful solutions.
- Solid leadership abilities with experience managing teams and partnering with executive leadership; excellent communication skills.
Your responsibilities as the Controller will include:
- Lead and Oversee Financial Operations: Manage the accounting function, including general ledger, A/R, A/P, payroll, and internal controls, while mentoring and developing the Staff Accountant.
- Manage SaaS Revenue Recognition: Oversee ASC 606 compliance, monthly close, cash management, and treasury functions.
- Deliver Strategic Financial Insights: Prepare and refine monthly reporting for leadership, track key SaaS metrics, and analyze trends to guide business decisions.
- Support Planning and Forecasting: Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements to scale efficiently.
- Ensure Compliance and Manage Audits: Oversee tax compliance, coordinate with external advisors, and lead the annual audit process.
