Deposit Operations Generalist

As a Deposit Operations Generalist, you will play a vital role in supporting daily bank deposit operations, ensuring accurate transaction processing, maintaining regulatory compliance, and delivering responsive service to internal teams and customers. In this role, you will be cross-trained across multiple back-office banking functions, helping maintain operational efficiency, data accuracy, and risk controls that support our retail banking and commercial banking services. What you’ll do as a Deposit Operations Generalist
- Process deposit operations transactions, including ACH processing, wire transfers through FedLine, chargebacks, stop payments, and account adjustments, while ensuring accuracy and operational efficiency in a banking operations environment.
- Manage account exceptions and maintenance, including non-post items, automated clearing house (ACH) blocks, Federal Reserve exceptions, and research for demand deposit accounts (DDA), savings accounts, and certificates of deposit (CDs).
- Perform bank reconciliations and reporting, including balancing general ledger accounts, reviewing ATM deposit activity, monitoring cash orders, and preparing operational and regulatory reports.
- Support bank regulatory compliance and risk management, ensuring adherence to BSA/AML, Regulation CC, Regulation E, and internal bank policies while maintaining accurate documentation for internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve deposit account discrepancies, subpoenas, levies, and reclamations, while contributing to process improvements and cross-functional banking operations projects.
As a Deposit Operations Generalist, you should have
- High school diploma or equivalent required with 1–3 years of experience in deposit operations, banking operations, or financial services, including transaction processing and account maintenance. An associate’s degree in business, finance, or banking is preferred.
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), banking systems, and data entry with the ability to perform deposit processing, account research, reconciliations, and operational reporting in a regulated financial services environment.
- Solid analytical, communication, and multitasking skills with the ability to adapt to new banking technologies, and maintain accuracy and productivity in a fast-paced bank operations or back-office banking role.
