Bilingual Medical Assistant, Back Office - AKDHC Paradise Valley Office

As the Bilingual Medical Assistant, Back Office, you will perform general medical assistant functions to support patient care and treatment and assist all office personnel as needed.
As a Medical Assistant, you should have:
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and external partners.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) or diploma/certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
- 1–2 years of front and/or back office clinical experience in a healthcare or medical practice setting.
- Proficient in clinical and office equipment, including stethoscopes, blood pressure monitors, EMR systems, scanners, printers, faxes, copiers, and telephones.
- Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced clinical environment, including physical tasks such as lifting or moving up to 50 pounds and traveling between clinic sites as assigned.
Your essential duties and responsibilities as a Medical Assistant:
- Provide direct patient care — room patients, obtain vitals, perform urine tests, administer injections, assist with anemia/iron management, refill prescriptions, and educate patients.
- Coordinate clinical testing and procedures — schedule and process 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, procedures, specimen collection, and courier transport.
- Document and communicate clinical information — interview patients, update EMR/medication lists, process dictation and reports, and notify physicians of abnormal findings or status changes.
- Manage scheduling, recalls, and patient follow-up — optimize provider schedules, handle recalls/no-shows, process hospital disposition reports, and follow up with patients and PCPs.
- Perform administrative, compliance, and operational support — handle clerical tasks, maintain supplies/equipment, process medical records per HIPAA, support chart purging, and adhere to policies (including floating to other sites as needed).
