As a Radiologic Technologist, you will perform patient examinations, diagnostic and interventional procedures as directed within the Radiology Technician scope of practice, assess, coordinate, and identify needs for supply and inventory management. You will also work closely with the charge nurse to facilitate patient flow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures and ensures patient safety throughout.
- Responsible for the entering of patient information, setting up procedures, documentation of Fluoroscopy times, and operation of the X-ray equipment according to standards.
- Ultimately responsible for all features, functions and operations of X-ray equipment.
- Provides patient films/cd’s to other providers as needed and maintains a log.
- Demonstrates competency and knowledge in aseptic techniques, surgical scrub skills and sterilization processes.
- Enters pertinent information in computer system to assist in statistical, research and patient follow-up.
- Maintains procedural supply inventories and orders items according to standard par levels and needs. Participates in monthly inventory counts.
- Documents accurately and timely all supplies and charges used during procedures for utilization and billing purposes.
- Maintains accurate and complete medical records of radiologic procedures in the patient chart and electronic data management systems.
- Ensures supplies are put away in the stock room.
- Assists other team members as directed in all pre-op, procedural and post-op areas. Assists with transporting patients and patient set-up.
- Complies with OSHA and HIPAA standards/regulations in addition to the Ambulatory Surgery Center Quality and Safety programs.
- Makes recommendations for improvement in processes or practices within the scope of their expertise.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Education/Experience: Three years prior Special Procedures Technologist required; Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, helpful.
- Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word Processing software and Medical Manager.
- Certificates and Licenses: Arizona state MRTBE license; ARRT certification; CPR certification.
