To thrive as the Purchasing Specialist, you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field
- 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in manufacturing, plastics, or industrial distribution environments
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis, inventory control, and procurement reporting
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal), ability to interpret technical documents/blueprints, and willingness to travel between Illinois and Florida as needed
Your responsibilities as the Purchasing Specialist will include:
- Lead procurement operations, sourcing raw materials, plastics, and components to support manufacturing and distribution efficiency across multiple locations
- Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, and lead times to optimize cost savings, vendor performance, and supply chain reliability
- Manage inventory planning, demand forecasting, and stock optimization to align with production schedules and customer delivery timelines
- Analyze procurement data and ERP system insights (Global Shop or similar) to improve purchasing strategies, margins, and operational efficiency
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships while resolving supply chain disruptions and ensuring on-time delivery performance
