Registered Nurse– Oncology

The Berenson Cancer Center is led by world-renowned oncologist and researcher James R. Berenson, MD, a pioneer in developing cutting-edge therapies for patients with myeloma and related blood cancers. We're seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team and play a vital role in supporting our healthcare professionals as we work to improve our patients' lives. Our office is located in the Sunset Medical Tower in West Hollywood, California, near Beverly Hills.

As a detail-oriented Oncology RN, you should have:
- RN degree
- Current CA licensure
- 2+ years of training in Oncology Nursing that includes central line/IV and BLS certification
Your responsibilities as the Oncology Nurse will include:
Nursing
- Provide direct patient care and supervise patient care provided by other nurses
- Start IVs
- Administer treatments
- Vital signs as needed
- Ensure all nursing staff properly communicate lab results to the M.D.
- Ensure all nursing staff provide the required interventions necessary for abnormal lab results and other clinical problems.
- Coordinate with Cedars-Sinai for blood or platelet transfusions via email and entering orders on Cedars’ EPIC system.
- Ensure all nursing staff provide outpatient prescriptions in a timely fashion for patients.
- Ensure all nursing staff know which medications have REMS programs and enroll patients in such programs.
- Provide direction and give instructions during an emergent situation
Lab
- Assure that transfer of blood, urine, and bone marrow specimens occurs in a timely and accurate fashion to the designated recipient
Research
- Oversee clinical trials-related work that is performed in the clinic
- Train all clinical staff on clinical trial procedures during onboarding and as needed
- Comprehensive review of new clinical trials and protocols, including feasibility assessment of clinic participation and identification/editing of protocol deficiencies.
- Determination with Clinical Research Data Lead of staff, equipment, and supply needs to complete tasks required for the studies
- Proper conduct of trials by clinical staff (nursing, pharmacy, lab, and physicians)
