Senior Commercial Estimator

As a Senior Commercial Estimator, you will lead the preconstruction and estimating division, guide cost strategy, and partner with senior leadership to shape business planning and market growth. You will oversee commercial estimating operations, manage architects and engineers through the design-build process, direct proposal development, cultivate client relationships, and ensure accurate budgeting, scheduling, and risk evaluation from concept through project turnover.

To thrive as the Senior Commercial Estimator, you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of Commercial General Contractor estimating experience on public (government) and private sector projects; 5–8 years of field construction experience with supervisory exposure preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in commercial construction estimating, including quantitative take-offs, bid processes, subcontractor scope review, pricing from RFP through project award, buyout procedures, and cost control across all divisions of work.
- Advanced technical proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, and adaptable estimating databases, with solid knowledge of construction documents, drawings, scheduling, contract law, project accounting, and local cost markets.
- Proven ability to lead estimating teams, negotiate contracts, assemble scopes of work, conduct value analysis, and deliver accurate budgets in compliance with safety standards and project requirements while meeting time and cost objectives.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors; commitment to client service, urgency in meeting deadlines, and flexibility to travel as required for commercial construction projects and industry engagements.
Your responsibilities as the Senior Commercial Estimator will include:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the preconstruction and estimating team while supporting division strategy and business planning.
- Prepare and analyze conceptual budgets, milestone estimates, cost models, and general conditions to ensure complete and accurate commercial construction pricing.
- Oversee Design-Build and hard bid processes, coordinate architect and engineering teams, and conduct constructability and value engineering reviews.
- Drive business development initiatives, manage proposal preparation and client presentations, and build strong industry relationships.
- Develop preconstruction schedules, evaluate risk factors, pre-qualify subcontractors, and lead project transition meetings to operations.
